The launch of AVY

THE LAUNCH OF AVY | WHERE A DREAM BECOMES REALITY by Patrique Zaman founder of ESA BIC Noordwijk incubatee AVY.

“At first, many of our dreams seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable”

When I was young I was fascinated by airplanes, jets and helicopters. I wanted to be a Jules Verne, Da Vinci or one of the Wright Brothers. I wanted to pioneer, to invent and to create.

Two years ago I changed my focus from my other companies to a new project. A dream, a crazy, monstrous, almost impossible dream. I wanted to build a new type of aircraft. An aircraft that is better, more sophisticated and, above all: sustainable. Safe, self-flying, and zero emissions. Because that’s what the planet deserves.

The last years where a crazy rollercoaster ride. Making the plans, trying out concepts, forming the team, doing pitches, collecting investments, losing team members, testing, failing, falling and getting up again, spending every penny and trying to keep the dream alive. We failed a million times, and, a couple of times, we had a succes. So many times, I was ready to give up.

Now, I am prouder than ever to announce the launch of Avy. The 2nd of February we will launch our dream, our aircraft and show the world what we’ve built.
